Accommodation, Meals and What to Bring to Coniston Coppermines hostel

Meals and Accommodation

We have exclusive use of the hostel for the weekend.  Accommodation is dormitory style.

All meals will be provided by the youth hostel. This will be three evening dinners at the hostel (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), three packed lunches (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) and three breakfasts (Saturday, Sunday, Monday).

Please let us know of any special dietary requirements in advance on the booking form.  Thank you.

Things to bring

  • Wet weather gear (as we will still be going out whatever the weather even if we need to shorten the walks)

  • Windproof and cold weather gear suitable for hill walking - it can be cold even in May
  • Walking shoes or boots

  • snacks and cash for the licensed bar

  • toiletries including soap and a towel

  • ear plugs!

  • Many people find a pair of walking poles very useful for steep terrain. If joining the high level walks please bring a 1:25,000 or 1:40,000 scale map, map case and compass and be proficient in mountain navigation.

  • Please note you will only be allowed to join any high level walks if you have the correct equipment and clothing.  The organisers' decision is final on who joins each activity.
