A warm welcome awaits you in Sheffield for UKELA's 2019 Annual Conference!  

Accommodation at Endcliffe Village

Delegates booking a residential package will stay at Endcliffe Village student accommodation.  It is conveniently located within a pleasant 30 minute walk of the Diamond Building and city centre.  Breakfast and the Friday evening meal will be here.  If you prefer not to walk between the student accommodation and the Diamond Building, a courtesy shuttle bus will be available at peak times, so don’t worry about the distance. Or, join in with our activity programme, pack your trainers and enjoy a brisk walk to the lectures each morning.

All bedrooms are a single study bedroom with en-suite facilities including bed linen, towels, toiletry pack, tea & coffee supplies, mini fridge along with complimentary Wi-Fi. Hard wire is available so please ensure you bring your ethernet cable with you.

Hotels 

If you prefer to stay nearer to the Diamond Building and city centre, there are numerous hotels. Some helpful information can be found via the Sheffield Tourist information office.    Please note, we are not able to book hotels for you. If you do decide to book a hotel rather than stay in the student accommodation, you will need to select the day delegate ticket when booking. 

Conference/Exhibition 

All plenary and workshop sessions along with exhibition and conference catering will take place within The Diamond Building. The Diamond Building is approximately a 30 minute walk from the Endcliffe Village accommodation, please allow plenty of time in the morning to arrive safely (or use the courtesy bus, see above)

Travel Information - The University of Sheffield has prepared information for visitors here. This comprehensive guide includes information on local taxis, trams, bus routes and walking routes.

Train InformationSheffield is at the heart of the railway network. Regular services from Sheffield Train Station to London St Pancras (2 1⁄4 hours), Birmingham (1 1⁄4 hours), Leeds (1 hour), Manchester (1 hour) and Nottingham (1 hour). The Sheffield bus interchange is a short walk away from the train station.

Arriving by Bus: Endcliffe Village and the Diamond Building are on on major bus and tram routes. For further information please visit this website.

Taxi to Endcliffe Village: There are taxi ranks at the Railway Station and the City Hall.  The journey to The Edge/Endcliffe Village can take up to 20 minutes at busy times and you can expect to pay around £8.  

Arriving by Car: For those who prefer to travel by car please visit this website for further information. Complimentary parking is available on campus and identified on the map by the P, please follow the link to the online University Campus Map. Please note that all spaces are based on a first come first served basis. Delegates will receive a car parking voucher in advance of the conference or at check-in which must be displayed on your vehicle during Friday only. 

Car sharing: You can help reduce transport impacts by offering to share a car. If you could offer a lift to others, or would be willing to car share, please let Red Pepper Events know and they’ll put you in touch with someone else travelling from your area.
