Join UKELA’s
South West regional group in Exeter for their next event, kindly hosted by the
Met Office at their headquarters. For those able to arrive by 4pm, the
afternoon will start with a tour of this state of the art building. This will
be followed at 5:30pm by the seminar focusing on nuisance and invasive species,
most recently highlighted by the well known Japanese
knotweed case, which will be led by a panel of expert speakers.
Speakers:
Jeremy
Phillips QC, Francis Taylor Buildings – a barrister’s perspective
Richard
Broadbent, Head of Legal Services at Natural England – view from the statutory advisor to Government on nature conservation in England
Kate
Hills, South West Water – commercial perspective
This
promises to be a great opportunity to hear more about a highly topical area
from three very different perspectives. We hope that the event will be of
interest to students and professionals working across environmental law with
the chance to benefit from the wealth of knowledge and experience on the panel.
There will
also be the chance for informal networking after the seminar, with the evening
wrapping up by 8pm.
Please
indicate on the booking form if you would like to join the tour of the building
first. Numbers are limited for this
opportunity and are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note you cannot just join the tour,
this is only available for those coming along to the seminar afterwards.
Tickets:
Members £10
Non-Members £15
Students limited free tickets
